Flying out with Qatar via Doha and Adelaide, arriving Auckland 2am we headed directly to the Novotel. Following day took the short hop to Tauranga. Spent the entire time in and around Tauranga, during some of the wettest summer weather on record. Even so, we got some bright days and BBQ opportunities. Revisited Driving Creek Railway, took Ollie to MOTAT (the Museum of Telecommunications and Transport) in Auckland, and took Joe to Rotorua for the Skyline Gondola and Luge riding. Some nice meals out, some nice meals in, and a lot of time relaxing in the beautiful garden. Journey home disrupted by Cyclone Gabriel - stuck at Auckland airport and arrived home 2 days later than planned.
